Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara
Depart Nairobi early morning and drive through the scenic Great Rift Valley, stopping at the viewpoint to admire the escarpment and the valley floor below. Continue to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge.
In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive through the reserve. The Mara’s open grasslands make wildlife spotting exceptional—look for lions resting in the shade, elephants near watering holes, and cheetahs scanning the plains for prey.
Dinner and overnight at your Maasai Mara lodge.
Day 2: Full Day in Maasai Mara
Start early with a sunrise game drive when predators are most active. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then enjoy time to relax or take a guided nature walk.
After lunch, head out for an extended afternoon game drive. Explore different areas of the reserve including the Mara River, famous for its hippo pods and crocodiles, and the crossing point for the Great Migration (July-October).
Optional: Arrange a Maasai village visit to learn about traditional culture, or book a spectacular hot air balloon safari (additional cost).
Dinner and overnight in the Maasai Mara.
Day 3: Maasai Mara – Nairobi
Enjoy a final morning game drive to catch any wildlife you may have missed. Return to the lodge for breakfast and check out.
Depart the Mara and drive back to Nairobi, stopping for lunch en route. Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon with drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
