Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara

Morning departure from Nairobi, driving through the Great Rift Valley with photo stops at the scenic viewpoint. Descend into the valley and continue across the wheat fields of Narok before entering the Maasai Mara ecosystem.

Arrive at your luxury tented camp in time for lunch. After settling in, depart for an afternoon game drive focused on locating the migration herds. Your guide will use local knowledge and radio networks to find the best wildlife concentrations.

Sundowner drinks in the bush before returning for dinner at camp.

Day 2: Migration Game Drives

Depart at dawn for a full-day game drive with packed picnic lunch. Position near the Mara River to witness possible river crossings—dramatic moments when thousands of wildebeest brave the waters and waiting crocodiles.

Between crossings, explore the vast plains where predators follow the herds. Lions, cheetahs, and hyenas take advantage of the abundance, providing incredible predator-prey interactions.

Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Mara River & Big Cat Country

Early morning game drive through the Mara Triangle, known for its high density of big cats. Search for leopards in the fig trees along the Talek River and lion prides in their favorite territories.

Mid-morning, enjoy a special bush breakfast prepared by your camp staff in a scenic location. Continue exploring until early afternoon.

Afternoon at leisure to enjoy camp amenities or take a guided nature walk. Evening game drive as the light softens over the savannah.

Dinner and overnight in the Maasai Mara.

Day 4: Full Day Exploration

Another full day dedicated to experiencing the migration. Your guide will take you to areas of high activity based on current herd movements. Witness the incredible scenes of vast herds stretching to the horizon.

Optional morning hot air balloon safari for an aerial perspective of the migration (additional cost). Float over the plains at sunrise before a champagne bush breakfast.

Afternoon game drive focusing on any species you haven’t yet seen. Option for a cultural visit to a Maasai manyatta (village).

Farewell dinner at camp.

Day 5: Maasai Mara – Nairobi

Final sunrise game drive to maximize your time in this incredible reserve. Return to camp for breakfast and pack your memories.

Check out and drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
