Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Naivasha
Morning departure from Nairobi through the Great Rift Valley. Descend the escarpment with photo stops at the viewpoints.
Arrive at Lake Naivasha for lunch. Afternoon boat safari among hippos and waterbirds. Land at Crescent Island for a walking safari among giraffes and zebras.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha.
Day 2: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara
Morning visit to Hell’s Gate National Park. Cycle through the park past wildlife and dramatic volcanic formations. Option to descend into the gorge (time permitting).
After lunch, drive to the Maasai Mara National Reserve (approximately 5 hours). The landscape transforms from lake shores to rolling savannah.
Arrive in time for a late afternoon game drive. Begin your Big Five quest as the sun sets over the Mara.
Dinner and overnight in the Maasai Mara.
Day 3: Full Day Maasai Mara
Full day exploring the Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. The reserve offers exceptional wildlife density—lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, and vast herds of wildebeest and zebras.
Visit the Mara River to see hippos and crocodiles. During migration season, this is where the dramatic river crossings occur.
Optional Maasai village visit or hot air balloon safari (additional cost).
Dinner and overnight in the Maasai Mara.
Day 4: Maasai Mara – Nairobi
Morning game drive for final wildlife sightings. Return to your lodge for breakfast.
Check out and drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
