Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara

Depart Nairobi at 7:00 AM sharp, driving through Kenya’s scenic countryside towards the Great Rift Valley. Stop at the famous Rift Valley Viewpoint to photograph the dramatic escarpment plunging into the valley floor below.

Continue through the agricultural town of Narok before entering the reserve through Oloolaimutia Gate. Arrive at Mara Sopa Lodge in time for check-in and a hot buffet lunch with views over the savannah.

After lunch, depart at 3:30 PM for your first game drive. The Mara’s open grasslands offer exceptional visibility—search for lions, elephants, giraffes, and perhaps your first glimpse of the elusive leopard. Return to the lodge at 6:00 PM to freshen up before dinner.

Meals: Lunch & Dinner | Accommodation: Mara Sopa Lodge

Day 2: Full Day Safari Experience

After an early breakfast, choose your adventure: depart for a morning game drive returning for lunch, then head out again in the afternoon; or pack a picnic lunch and spend the entire day exploring different sectors of the reserve.

Your guide navigates to prime wildlife areas based on the latest sightings—perhaps the Mara River for hippos and crocodiles, the Mara Triangle for big cats, or the open plains where cheetahs hunt.

Capture the magical sunset over the plains before returning for dinner and evening entertainment featuring traditional Maasai dances around the campfire.

Meals: Full Board | Accommodation: Mara Sopa Lodge

Day 3: Final Game Drive & Return to Nairobi

Rise early to take advantage of the golden morning light for photography and final wildlife sightings. After breakfast and check-out, depart the Mara.

Optional: Visit a Maasai village en route ($20 per person) to learn about traditional culture and the warrior way of life.

Enjoy lunch at a restaurant en route. Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon (approximately 4:00-5:00 PM).
