Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Meru National Park
Morning departure from Nairobi, driving northeast to Meru National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge.
Afternoon game drive through Meru’s palm-dotted plains and riverine forests. The park supports elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos (reintroduced), and diverse antelope.
Visit the Elsa Memorial and learn about the Adamsons’ pioneering conservation work.
Dinner and overnight in Meru.
Day 2: Meru National Park
Full day exploring Meru with morning and afternoon game drives. The park’s thirteen rivers create diverse habitats supporting rich wildlife populations.
Morning focus on the northern sectors along the Rojewero River—prime leopard territory. Look also for lesser kudu and gerenuk in the drier scrubland.
Afternoon explore the central plains and rhino sanctuary area. Meru’s rhino population is growing thanks to successful reintroduction programs.
Dinner and overnight in Meru.
Day 3: Meru – Mount Kenya
Morning game drive in Meru before breakfast. Depart and drive southwest to the Mount Kenya region (approximately 3 hours).
Arrive at your lodge on the mountain’s slopes. On clear days, the snow-capped peaks are visible from your accommodation.
Afternoon forest walk or drive exploring Mount Kenya’s montane habitats. Look for elephants, buffaloes, colobus monkeys, and forest birds.
Dinner and overnight at Mount Kenya.
Day 4: Mount Kenya – Nairobi
Morning activity—forest drive or nature walk as mist rises through the trees. The mountain’s forests are magical at dawn.
Breakfast with mountain views before check out. Drive to Nairobi, arriving by early afternoon.
