Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Tsavo East

Arrive at Mombasa airport and drive to Tsavo East National Park (approximately 2.5-3 hours). The park’s proximity to the coast makes it ideal for safari-beach combinations.

Arrive at your lodge overlooking a waterhole for lunch. Afternoon game drive exploring Tsavo East’s vast savannah. The park’s red-dusted elephants—colored by the iron-rich soil—are a signature sight.

Drive along the Galana River, where elephants, hippos, and crocodiles congregate. Tsavo’s scale means wildlife has space to roam—the experience feels wild and uncrowded.

Dinner and overnight in Tsavo East.

Day 2: Tsavo East

Full day exploring Tsavo East. Morning drive to Lugard Falls, where the Galana River churns through colorful rock channels.

Continue exploring the park’s plains, searching for lions, cheetahs, and large elephant herds. Visit the Yatta Plateau—the world’s longest lava flow—for panoramic views.

Mid-day relaxation at the lodge watching wildlife at the waterhole. Afternoon game drive as temperatures cool.

Dinner and overnight in Tsavo East.

Day 3: Tsavo East – Diani Beach

Morning game drive for final wildlife encounters. Return to the lodge for breakfast.

Check out and drive to Diani Beach (approximately 2.5-3 hours). Arrive at your beach resort in time for lunch.

Afternoon at leisure on the beach. Diani’s palm-fringed white sand and clear turquoise waters are among Africa’s finest. Swim, snorkel, or simply relax after your safari adventure.

Dinner at the resort or beachside restaurant.

Day 4: Diani Beach

Full day enjoying Diani Beach. Activities available include:

  • Snorkeling and scuba diving on coral reefs
  • Kite surfing and water sports
  • Dhow sailing trips
  • Deep-sea fishing
  • Visit to local villages or markets
  • Spa and relaxation

Optional excursion to Wasini Island or Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park for dolphin watching and pristine snorkeling (additional cost).

Overnight at Diani Beach.

Day 5: Departure

Morning at leisure. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy final beach time before transfer to Ukunda airstrip or Mombasa airport.

Alternatively, extend your beach stay or connect to Nairobi for onward travel.
